New Changes for the New Year!!!!!
Hello everyone sorry for my most recent hiatus however life as a pet sitter has been rather busy with the holidays and whatnot. With the New Year just around the corner I am making changes in both my personal and professional life that hopefully will allow me to blog more. I am breaking out on my own with pet sitting, I have put in my notice with the pet sitting company that I was working for, with a heavy heart I might add, in the hopes of freeing up my time to do other things. Get out and market myself to increase my own clientele. I am going to blog more in the hopes that it helps if not then I hope to touch someone's life out there. Come on 2014 bring me what you have.

Seriously pet owners
First off I am sorry that I haven't blogged in forever for those of y'all that actually read my blog. I have been moving to a new place and working my butt off.
With that said lol I want to take a minute to bitch about the pet owners that think their dogs are off leash trained. News flash if you dog is still running after something even after you call them then they are not off leash trained.
As y'all know I am a pet sitter and so I was walking these three dogs together which was a chore in itself and this dog comes running up to us growling and barking, the owner just hanging out yelling the dogs name, seriously lady first off put your dog on a leash and secondly come and actually retrieve your dog he or she is obviously not listening to you.
Owners need to take responsibility for their dogs and know their dogs limitations when it comes to being off leash. Besides there is a leash law in the city perhaps they should brush up on their laws.

A letter to Michael Vick
I found this link on the web, it was actually Facebook, and I myself have been a follower of the Vick dog fighting ring bust up, I am an advocate for Pit bulls, and think that they are amazing, and beautiful. I think Vick should seriously pay for what he did and so should all the people involved. When I read this I cried, because the letter to him hits home on so much, and it makes me wonder if he really cares what happened to his dogs, or were they looked at as just a means of income?? If that is the case, who in their right mind could do that? To me a person that could do that is not Human in any way shape or form. I don't get where a human who is suppose to have compassion and love can do that, does it put his kids in the ring to duke it out until the death, I mean to me and probably other animals loves, activist, and owners it is no different. Some of you might think I am wrong to compare fighting dogs to putting kids in the ring to fight for life, but to me it is not any different, my dogs are my kids. It is good to know that his champion did live out his days in a loving family, at least he was able to have an amazing death, since his life wasn't to great. I apologize for any offense I have made to anyone.

Puppy Phase
I was pet sitting for a new client of ours that has a 5 year old and a 10 week old puppy. Puppies are like babies to some people. When I see a puppy I get the same pull as to when a mother sees a baby. I have never had a want for a human child however when it comes to animals I have the same want as one would have for a human child. With that being said I was watching this new clients babies and the first night went amazing, the puppy was on her best behavior going to sleep and everything. The second night however she whined all night long. Every hour waking me up whining, so I get up and take her out only for her to play :) and no matter how many times you told her otherwise she just simply didn't care :). Although I am missing the hours of sleep I didn't get last night I would not have change it for anything :) but it is going to make me rethink a puppy of my own very soon. Meet the puppy :)

Pet Insurance
To buy or not to buy? So my bailey is getting older and I recently had to fork out some serious money for her to have surgery. I have been thinking about getting an insurance policy for her but have been holding off in doing so, due to lack of not knowing which company to use. Well I have decided to go with VPInsurance and just bought her the emergency coverage. Surprisingly the policy reimburses quite a bit of things, and I figure something is better then nothing.
Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on pet insurance? I did a company comparison and they all seem to offer the same benefits and pricing :) so I shall see how this pet insurance pans out !!!!!

50 Most popular news stories of all time - from Paw Nation
I was cruising the internet when I came across this website of the 50 most popular news stories of all time from Paws Nation. Definitely a interesting read, there are new stories of different situations of animals, some not so funny, and some the human is more funnier then the animal. There are stories about hurt dolphins, and humans being chased up a tree by tigers. It has a little bit of everything but mostly its about the human counter part and how lets just say inexperienced they are, I am not going to say stupid, even though some are, the humans not the stories. So feel free to take a look. I hope you enjoy.

Therapy Dog Training
I don't know if I have said in previous posts, that my Saint Bernard Abbie is going through training to become a therapy dog. Well She is on step 3 of what seems like a million steps and a lot of money later :) She has passed her Canine good citizen test, and she has also passed the testing for the organization that she is going to be working for. All she has left now is testing for the insurance company that is going to hold the liability insurance, and she has to do some supervised visits. I personally think the visits are more for the human counter part then for the four legged one. I am excited to get her started, She has done super awesome through out this whole process, no matter what I think about myself in this process... Sometimes my confidence isn't my strongest asset :)
I will definitely post pictures of her when she gets her vest, and all that good stuff. :) Well I hope everyone has a happy Monday. :)

Things Animals do :)
So as I have said in past posts, that I am a pet sitter. So I have been doing this for a while now, and I was working for a client and their babies, well when I came home to the babies one day they managed to tear up a couch pillow. Apparently it was attempting to break in the house, or was bullying someones sisters. :) Because that is the only conclusion that I can come up with, or perhaps they were very, very, very, bored.
With that being said I just felt the need to share, I actually thought it was rather cute and funny. :)

Texas Humane Legislation Network (THLN)
I got an email today from the THLN (Texas Humane Legislation Network) It's an organization in Austin, TX that works to be the voice of animals in Legislature. I am looking to volunteer for them, in all my free time :) Which I will definitely find time to do, because I definitely think animals need a voice. There are too many mean and stupid people out there that treat animals terribly, and they need better laws protecting animals. So anyway they are having their 5th Annual Conference on Sept 6 and 7 in Austin, TX. The website for conference information is: http://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/event?oeidk=a07e7gwwiy1d6ea246a
We also have a local chapter for the San Antonio, Texas area, I am fairly new to it, and haven't had the opportunity to do anything for them, but definitely plan on doing so. I am currently corresponding with the chapter president, to get started. I do know they are looking for volunteers for the Bandera River Festival that is coming up June 29. The website for the festival is www.banderariverfest.com and the website for THLN is www.THLN.org
Well back to my pet sitting, animal loving, life. Hope all is well in your world. :)

New To Blogging
Hello my name is Sunne Marie, and I am new to this blogging thing. I am an avid animal lover and activist, which my friends and family would sometimes think I can go a little overboard, but yet I am the first one they call when there is a problem, imagine that :). I manage a local thrift store, which is interesting in its own right, and work as a pet sitter / dog walker. I volunteer at a number of different animal organizations. I am starting this blog to talk about anything that has to do with critters, animals of all kinds. I hope to make this blog funny, informative, and just simply awesome :). I have 4 animals myself, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. I have a 50 lb mutt, who is 12 years old, and a 5 year old 150 lb Saint Bernard that is going to school to be a therapy dog. :) I myself hope to open my own no kill shelter, to help animals, and be their voice. So I hope you enjoy my blog, any comments, criticism, or suggestions will be dually noted :) Hope ya have a great and awesome day.
